Service Description
Hokkaido Campground and RV Park Reservation Agency Service
SHAchuoo Hokkaido makes reservations at campgrounds and RV parks throughout Hokkaido on behalf of overseas visitors who may find it difficult to make reservations in Japanese.
Many campgrounds in Hokkaido are operated by local residents or a small number of staff.
Recently, there has been an increase in guests who do not arrive at their reserved time (No Show), cancel without notice, or arrive significantly later than their scheduled check-in time.
To help everyone enjoy camping in Hokkaido, please read and agree to the following rules before applying.
Reservations
Campground reservations can be requested from two months before your intended date of use. Please confirm the following when applying.
- Agreement to the cancellation policy and cancellation fees
- Agreement to observe the check-in time
- Whether you will be accompanied by a pet
- A telephone number reachable in Japan or an international telephone number
Please Observe Your Check-in Time
Please arrive at the scheduled check-in time stated in your reservation.
If you expect to be late, you must call the campground directly before the check-in deadline.
SHAchuoo cannot assist with same-day delays, particularly on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, or consecutive holidays.
If You Arrive After Reception Has Closed
Campground staff may no longer be present after reception closes, and you may be unable to check in.
Entering or staying at a campground without checking in is prohibited.
If you miss the check-in time and no campground staff are present, please take the following steps.
- Call the campground directly as soon as you know you will be late
- If reception has closed, move to a nearby roadside station or another suitable place and stay overnight in your vehicle
- Visit the campground the following morning and be sure to pay the campground usage fee
Never use a campground without permission or leave the usage fee unpaid.
Reservation Agency Fee
3,300 yen per designated campground/RV park reservation, including one vehicle. (Extended stays at the same location are OK for the fee of one night.)
*Reservations for campgrounds other than the designated campgrounds will be charged 6,600 yen per reservation.
*For a second or subsequent vehicle, please submit a separate new reservation request for each vehicle.
*The actual campground usage fee must be paid separately by the customer at the campground.
*Reservations may be canceled or changed after booking, but the agency fee is non-refundable. To make a change, please submit a new reservation request. (Additional fee applies.)

Pay the Usage Fee at the Campground Reception Desk
*For campgrounds that require advance payment, SHAchuoo will pay the fee on your behalf and invoice you for it together with the agency fee.
Upon Arrival at the Campground
Please show your reservation email at the campground reception desk and pay the actual campground usage fee.
Tell the reception desk that the reservation is under either your name or the reservation agency “SHAchuoo (Nisshindo).”
Reservation Changes and Cancellations
Reservation Changes: At Least 10 Days Before Use
To change the date, number of guests, number of nights, or other reservation details, please contact us at least 10 days before your date of use.
As a general rule, reservation details cannot be changed less than 10 days before use.
Cancellations: At Least 5 Days Before Use
To cancel a reservation, please contact us at least 5 days before your date of use.
After this deadline, a cancellation fee may be charged in accordance with the campground's policy.
In addition, emails received outside SHAchuoo office hours will be checked on the next business day, so please contact us well before the deadline.

Same-day Cancellations [Important]
For a same-day cancellation, you will be charged 100% of the campground usage fee, regardless of the reason.
Same-day cancellation requests cannot be handled by the SHAchuoo office.You must call the campground directly yourself.
If SHAchuoo pays the cancellation fee to the campground on your behalf, an agency fee of 1,100 yen (tax included) per campground, including payment processing fees, will be charged in addition to the campground usage fee. This applies whether payment was to be made in advance or on site.
No Shows
If you do not arrive and have not contacted the campground, your reservation will be treated as a No Show.
In this case, you will be charged 100% of the campground usage fee + an agency fee of 1,100 yen (tax included).
A No Show causes significant inconvenience not only to campground staff but also to other guests who could have used the site.
Please be sure to notify the campground if you need to cancel or will be late.
SHAchuoo Office Hours
- Office hours
- Weekdays, 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Closed
- Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and consecutive holidays
The office is also closed from April 28 to May 5, August 9 to August 16, and December 26 to January 5.
Emails and inquiries received outside office hours will be handled on the next business day.
Therefore, SHAchuoo cannot assist with same-day cancellations, changes, or delays when contacted on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, consecutive holidays, or outside office hours.
For a same-day cancellation or late arrival, you must contact the campground directly yourself.
Important Notes
- ・This service provides reservation assistance for designated campgrounds.
- ・Campground usage fees are charged separately and must be paid at reception on the day of use.
To request a campground or RV park not included in the designated list, please submit a separate request. The agency fee is 6,600 yen per location. - ・Specific sites or pitches at campgrounds and RV parks cannot be reserved. Please check in early and consult the campground on the day.
- ・When canceling, you may be required to pay a cancellation fee in accordance with the cancellation policy of each campground or RV park.
- ・In the event of a No Show, you must pay the actual campground usage fee and service fee. Guests who cancel without notice will no longer be able to make reservations at any campground or RV park through this service.
- ・Reservations and changes close 10 days before the date of use.
